“And through all that dreadful darkness she had remembered him. He who loved her. He who still loved her. Who would always love her.”
― Ben Elton, Two Brothers
Once in a while you find a good book, a book so captivating that you just have to write about it and share it with everyone else. This book for me was none other than Ben Elton's Two Brothers.
The book is set in Berlin just around the time of Hitler's reign and continues mainly being set during WW2. Two brothers is an amazingly written story of two boys who were born on the same day and by fate, ended up being brothers. All is well and good and nothing could separate the bond these two have except for one major problem...one is Jewish and the other is German.
The book does a great job of showing the effects of true love both in romance and family and really is the epitome of the saying "Family over everything". The book is truly inspiring and has a way of captivating the reader and targets a whole variety of people with it's many genre's, such as Romance, Comedy, Suspense, Action and many more.
What makes the book just that much more heartfelt is the fact that it is based on Ben Elton's very personal family history and many of the scenes and characters were actually based on true events and deceased family members who were alive during WW2.
I do recommend this book to anyone and would definitely read it again in a heart beat.
