Over the holidays I kind of went on a baking frenzy and one of the things I ended up baking were these Choc chip oat cookies. They tasted pretty good and my family seemed to enjoy them...a little too much if you ask me (the cookies didn't even last half a day in the house!) Anyways, to keep it short and sweet, I've decided to not be greedy and share the recipe with all of you and hopefully you'll enjoy them just as much as we did! V.Z xx Ingredients 3 tablespoons of butter (room temperature) 1/2 cup of brown sugar 1/4 cup of honey 1 egg 2 tablespoons water 1/2 cup of whole wheat flour 1/2 teaspoon of salt 1/4 teaspoon baking soda 1 and a half cups of oatmeal (or instant oats) Choc chips Firstly you'll need to preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius. Then with a mixing paddle, whisk or wooden spoon you'll need to mix your brown sugar, butter, egg, honey and water thoroughly until all ingredients are well mixed together. Next up, sift together your dry ingredients then stir in your oats. Add dry ingredients to wet ingredients and one again mix thoroughly. After that you can now add any other additional ingredients you want. I chose choc chips, you can put as much as your heart desires, which is why I didn't give an exact amount of how many choc chips you need. For a rough estimate though, I used just about half the small container. You can add raisins, nuts, figs, whatever you prefer. Next up, grab a tablespoon and drop those little babies onto a well greased cooking board. You can decide how big or small you want them. Bake them for about 12 to 15 minutes and they'll be all done! Cool them outside the oven and place on a plate when you ready to serve them. And that's it! A super quick and easy recipe.
Feel free to comment on how they went if you baked them!
