We all know how hard it is to start eating healthy after binging on tons of food, especially after the festive seasons. No one really likes the idea of having to give up on all the delicious foods and snacks just to have it replaced by celery sticks, salads, brown rice etc. If we are being completely honest, many of us have given up trying to eat healthy because we just craved that slice of pizza or that two for one Cadbury special.. No one said it was impossible though. One just needs to set goals that are achievable. Remember, whatever weight you gained was over a period of time. In the same way, you will lose it over a period. So even when following a healthy lifestyle, allow yourself to enjoy a treat now and again. V.Z xx Why have a treat day? Because many of us start off our healthy eating plans really excited, full steam ahead, but by the time the train is only a quarter way to it's destination we already want to jump off. Having a treat day allows you to eat healthy and train harder because you know you have something to look forward to. Try having a treat day once a week, preferably on Saturday because that's a relaxed day though any day will do. A treat day allows you a day's grace to satisfy the cravings you've been having all week, and you'll feel better about having it knowing that the whole week you were good and you worked for it. However, there is a HUGE difference in a treat day and a BINGE day. Try make sure you stick to at max, two major things... For example I absolutely love Jumping Jacks popcorn, so for me it may be having that during the day and then treating myself to a meal I've been craving for dinner. The key is to spread it out, don't have it all at once, take your time and enjoy the day...because it'll only come back after a week.
