Stop complaining and start doing. Life was never meant to be easy, sometimes you just have to look at it from a different angle, to really appreciate all it's worth. Finishing matric in 2015 really opened my eyes. From the endless exams, my matric dance and of course countless drama which comes with being in an all girls school. It all had its ups and downs but guess what? I survived! However, if there was one thing I could’ve told myself in the beginning of the year that would have been: Slow down, Take it easy, SLEEP IF YOU NEED TO. V.Z xx Yes, we all know matric automatically means your hours are reduced down and for me it went from a steady 7hours of sleep (5hours if I’m being completely honest with the amount of time I spend on social media before I sleep) to a rough 3/4hours during Trials and Finals. Looking back however, I now understand that less hours of sleep does not equate to better grades and that a little reorganising and prioritising goes a long way to a healthier life
So what’s my advice for the new year to come? Don’t be afraid to take time out of your busy life to just enjoy your life and yourself. Don’t forget that sleep and relaxation is JUST as important as fitness and a balanced diet for healthy living. It’s definitely easy to forget about it, but if you want better for yourself in the future, you might as well start with making sure you’re in the right frame of mind. As the new year creeps around the corner so does the end to your current chapter. No one likes repetition, so do better for yourself, change it up a little…SLEEP and just remember: New Chapter, New You. V.Z xx
