Quick confession, when we first paired this look I was extremely hesitant. On the bed the shirt looked miles to big, and the shoes screamed, 'Jesus where you at?'
However, once Natercia threw on the shirt, rolled the sleeves up, and grabbed a few accessories . . . I thought "darn, we did good". I swear I left her house and hunted in my dads closet for my own oversized shirt.
Winter is officially here, it's been a long road but with Summer showing us flames this year, all I can say is that I've BEEN waiting for this season. Winter is definitely without a doubt my favourite season, and winter fashion hardly disappoints.
One of my favourite things about Winter, apart from drinking Chai Tea all day everyday, the cuddle weather, sleeping in my high knee socks, I would say is getting to layer my clothes. Now when I say layering my clothes I don't mean wearing every item I own.
Layering is definitely not a skill, but it is something that needs to be done right or else you'll just look like a huge mess. Men's fashion has done well with layers, and this is evident in the way many leather jackets come with hoodies built in, and if not built in...then they do it themselves and it never seems to go wrong.
Before you ladies start to complain, there's a lot that can be paired together. It's just all about finding the right layers to put together.
*Major tip though* if you're going to put layers on, rather stick to slim fitting pants on the bottom, you don't wanna start looking like you're just a person who doesn't know what clothe size they wear.
Winter is my favourite season, and with the way summer brought us flames this year, all I can say is that I’ve BEEN waiting for winter. Like I said before, I love me some winter fashion. One must have item this winter would definitely be a pair of boots…or a few pairs of boots.
Winter is just a season I absolutely adore, not just because I get to drink all the Chai Tea I want all day every day, or because of the cuddle weather, or even the fact I get to sleep in knee-high socks. Nah, it’s definitely because of the fashion and of course the boots and with it being right around the corner, I'm just so excited.
There are just so many different types of boots these days, there’s military boots, gumboots, high-knee boots, ankle boots…honestly the list is infinite. What I also love about boots is how you can pair them with any outfit and they work. Not to mention that boots work with everyone, no matter what your age is, old or young, tall or short. For this exact reason I’m definitely making boots a must have this winter.
As most of you may know, Coachella music valley festival is literally just around the corner. With that said I have been dreaming about attending Coachella one day, sadly the time has yet to come. Nevertheless, I thought it would be fun to do Coachella inspired looks for this week’s blog post! I’m hoping it will help ease my extreme FOMO! For those of you attending the event, I hope this post leaves you feeling inspired, or even if you are just going to another festival.
If you have a no idea what Coachella is here is a quick description I found online: ** The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival (commonly referred to as Coachella or the Coachella Festival) is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, located in the Inland Empire's Coachella Valley in the Colorado Desert. **
Let us know below if you are attending Coachella or have ever attended.
If not would you like to go one day?
My oh my, this blogging "for fun" thing is quiet a bit challenging. Popping out a post once a week requires times and patience.
But when a blog post comes together one feels accomplished and successful. All though this blog post is long overdue, I still hope you like it. Feel free to leave a comment and subscribe to the|NATIVES.
Headwear is definitely in fashion at the moment and what better way to accessories an outfit than a hat/cap. Not to mention they also hide a bad hair day. They look good in any weather and there's always a hat/cap for any occasion or event.
These are just a few looks we chose to show off and have a bit of fun in.
When I met Natercia on the day of our shoot, she was busy getting her makeup done by Husna.
This gave us an opportunity to sit and chat about different outfits and concepts.
Natercia has a classic and chic style. Her composure and confidence, made every outfit look so effortless. We opted for a natural makeup look, in order to make the outfit the "star of the show".
One thing people generally learn about me in the earlier stages of getting to know me, is my love for fashion. Fashion is something I absolutely adore, so much so that I could never be able to stick to just one fashion style. One minute I could be wearing heels and a statement blazer, the next minute I'm dropping them for a pair of sneakers and a checked shirt.
I never like to limit myself, so I am very much open to getting anything and everything, although my cupboard space would heavily disagree. For the longest period I wanted to do Fashion Buying, sadly however, that plan fell through. I do still enjoy looking up the latest trends both local and international. My drawers are (as embarrassing as it is to admit) filled with Elle, Marie Claire and Vogue magazines. I can never tire of browsing through the countless pages of amazing fashion.
The look I chose to show today is basically just a sum up of me in general, a little pop of colour, some heels (for the extra height) and of course a half bun.
When venturing into the blogging industry, especially lifestyle blogging, one needs to know their strengths and weaknesses. In this case, I would say Fashion is not my forte at all. However, I am working on my sense of style or lack thereof.
I prefer to stick with monochrome colours (black and white) and minimalist colours (light greys and blues being my go to) until I am confident in my style.
My main source of inspiration comes from Instagram and various fashion bloggers.
I chose to upload my pictures in black and white because not only are those my staple colours, but I am literally only wearing black and white.
Vimbai and Lindi are two best friends who have always had a desire for new beginnings. Having just finished Matric, they decided it was the perfect time to chase their passions. Together they decided to venture out into the blogging industry.
